We were so privileged to have Mark and Darla cater the BP Chemical Company Christmas Party at James Island County Park. The food was outstanding but what sets SaltWorks apart from the rest of the area food crowd is their attention to detail and personal service. All their wait staff were especially friendly and personable and made each of our guests feel welcomed. Great food, awesome service, very reasonable price and pleasant to work with. From the moment I turned things over to Mark and crew, I didn’t worry about a thing. Great job! Looking forward to the next event!

From the time we scheduled our event with Salt Works,, to the time it was over and they rolled off site, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The service and food were all very well planned and not a detail was missed by Mark and his crew. Every single guest at our event remarked as to the quality and taste of the excellent food. A “non-traditional baby shower” was our desire and Mark and Darla Welker of SaltWorks Catering made the event effortless and fun. The food was out of this world; — from mouth watering bacon wrapped scollops, scrumptious smoked salmon (my personal favorite), tenderloin with Mark’s famous pepper jam, yummie fried shrimp with marmalade sauce and crispie hush puppies, on and on. Everyone raved about the food and the personal attention given to the entire event. A sincere thank to SaltWorks Catering for a wonderful party, and we highly recommend them for any of your catering needs both large and small.

It was a real pleasure to be one of the first catering clients of Mark and Darla’s new company. Saltworks catered a wonderful brunch at our home with 20 family members from all over the country here to celebrate Dad’s 90th birthday.

The food was outstanding (especially the shrimp and gits) but what was really special is how Mark and Darla interacted with the family and made the food prep and serving a major part of the celebration.

Can’t wait until the next opportunity allows for them to return to the house for another great meal.

Last year we moved into our new house right before Christmas and had Mark Welker cater a House warming Christmas party. We were blown away with the wonderful staff and Mark’s amazing food. The presentation was beyond our expectation and the food amazing. Friends were talking about this party for months.

Every detail was perfect all the way to the fact that they were able to break down and clear out without interrupting the flow of the party! A night we will always remember and would hire again without question. Top notch!

Our first experience with Mark Welker was an appreciation party we hosted for a friend with around 100 guests. The food, which was prepared on site, was outstanding with the presentation and service second to none. All the guests went on and on about Mark’s culinary skills.

The second event was a dinner for friends cooked by Chef Mark in our home. It was an amazing evening. What a great way to entertain friends without the added pressure of preparing the meal.

And finally we took a harbor cruise on the Osprey with appetizers, frogmore stew and cocktails. What a relaxing, fun way to spend a special evening with friends. We highly recommend Mark and Salt Works Catering. Just be prepared for him to exceed your expectations.
